Fetching CD tracks and titles

By default, when you insert a CD, Audion will fetch information about the CD in your drive from a master database (CDDB™). This information includes the name of the CD, the artist, and the names of all the CD's tracks. You'll know this process is taking place when the "CDDB" indicator blinks.

Audion uses this information extensively to make your CD's easier to manage.

It's possible that CDDB could have multiple matches for your CD. You can configure how Audion handles this.

Note 1: If you need Audion to refresh the CDDB information, perhaps because the disc data wasn't available the first time, select "Refresh Info for this CD" from the "Mode" menu.

Note 2: If you don't want Audion to retrieve this information, or if you aren't connected to the Internet, you can disable this feature in Audion's preferences.

Note 3: CDDB requires a E-Mail address in order to lookup titles. If you are concerned about your privacy, make sure to change the address.

CD Title Storage

Audion also stores this CD information in a file on your hard disk so that it doesn't have to be downloaded from the Internet each time the CD is inserted. This cache is in your System Folder, in a folder called Application Support. The file itself is called "CD Title Storage".

If you wish to remove the cached information for a CD:
Open the Mode menu and choose Clear Cached Info for this CD
